Between them, Kane and Bellingham have 172 England caps.
While Bellingham is just short of 10 years younger than Kane, the Real Madrid attacking midfielder already has six years’ experience at international level.
Bayern Munich striker Kane made his England debut 11 years ago.
And it is this experience, as well as their superstar status, that has made them part of England’s leadership group.
They have big-game and big-club experience.
Both players are vocal in the dressing room too.
Kane is thankful for Bellingham’s presence in that leadership group, while Bellingham appreciates how Kane has always backed him in public.
The bond between the pair is underlined by mimicking each other’s celebrations. We saw this again against Mexico with them both arms-outstretched posing in front of the crowd in Bellingham’s trademark style.
Most importantly, on the field, the pair mesh well. Bellingham’s running opens up more space for Kane, while the England captain is unselfish in creating goals for his team-mate, like in the Mexico tie.
