The 48-year-old shared her diagnosis in a candid Instagram post Wednesday.
“I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” Vanessa Trump wrote.
“I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me,” she added.
Trump said she is “focused and hopeful” and surrounded by the support of her family.
“Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery,” she concluded her post.
Vanessa Trump was married to Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump’s eldest child, from 2005 to 2018, and the couple has five children together. She is dating golf legend Tiger Woods.
Ivanka Trump, Vanessa’s former sister-in-law, commented well wishes, saying, “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
