Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is down one luxury car and up one security dog after three masked men stole her Porsche GTS, she told her TikTok followers on Monday.
“Get ready with me to pick up my new car,” the gymnast said with an upbeat squeal as she applied makeup in her bathroom.
Biles, 29, said the robbery happened during her last months in Chicago and is partially responsible for why she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, now have a Dobermann Pinscher.
“I feel like I need a reality TV show,” Biles said. “The things that happen to me are absolute insanity.”
Chicago police said it could not provide an incident report to NBC News.
In recent years, several high-profile athletes across multiple sports have reported home break-ins and robberies.
Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were both robbed in October 2024. The homes of basketball pros Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty and Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks were robbed in 2025. The home of Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns was robbed by four men as he played a game earlier this year.
Biles said her old car was recovered but she and Owens, a safety for the Indianapolis Colts, decided to get a new one anyway: “When they turned that thing on, I was sold,” she said.
The world’s most decorated gymnast made headlines in June when she revealed on social media that she almost died, though she did not share the circumstances.
“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles said in a post, “but almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”
