Judd Trump whitewashed Mark Selby at the Shenzhen Open to secure a semi-final meeting with Wu Yize, who progressed after a thrilling victory over Shaun Murphy.
Trump notched five successive half-centuries against fellow Englishman Selby, but it was his composed safety play which helped him seal a 5-0 scoreline.
Selby had his chances in the first, third and fourth frames but was unable to compete with the world number two’s cue-ball control.
World champion Wu made two centuries in the last three frames to edge a 5-4 victory over Murphy in a repeat of this year’s Crucible final, which the Chinese player also won in a deciding frame.
Murphy had breaks of 104 and 98, but these came in between frames where he fluffed straightforward pots, allowing Wu to go into the interval on level terms.
The 44-year-old Englishman went 3-2 up thanks to a break of 68, only for Wu to produce impressive breaks of his own – 94 and 121 – to get his nose in front.
In an error-strewn eighth frame, Murphy was able to draw level after Wu missed a crucial brown, but the 22-year-old capitalised on a mistake in the decider with a break of 117.
Elsewhere, world number 45 Jimmy Robertson claimed a 5-3 win over Chris Wakelin to keep alive his hopes of a first ranking title since 2018.
He will next face China’s Yuan Sijun, who rattled off four frames in a row, including two centuries, as he fought back to claim a 5-2 win over Michael Holt.
