“Star Trek: The Original Series” first aired on television this month in 1966 and, since its release, has amassed a loyal fanbase and several film installments. To honor the series and celebrate its 60th anniversary, cookware brand Le Creuset just launched a limited-edition Star Trek collection. The lineup includes a Dutch oven with a Starfleet Delta knob, a Klingon-inspired braiser, a Shuttlecraft baking dish and more. Le Creuset’s Star Trek Collection
Below are some of the pieces from Le Creuset’s new Star Trek collection, which the brand launched to honor the series’ 60th anniversary.
This 5.5-quart Dutch oven, which has a lifetime warranty, is made from enamel-coated cast iron, which is suitable for cooking on electric and gas stoves, in the oven and more. It has a gray undertone, a handle on each side and a that lid not only has a design of the starship outlined on it, but a knob in the shape of the Starfleet Delta symbol. The underside of the lid also helps redistribute moisture into food, preventing it from drying out. The brand recommends only washing it by hand.
This shallow braiser has a capacity of 3.5 quarts and, as its name implies, is suitable for braising foods like beef, pork and poultry. Available in a dark blue shade, the braiser has a handle on each side, a lid with a design of the aircraft on it and a knob in the shape of a Klingon trefoil. Similar to the brand’s Dutch oven, the braiser is made from enamel-coated cast iron and is best if only washed by hand, according to the brand. It also has a limited lifetime warranty.
This casserole dish, which is modeled after the Galileo Shuttlecraft, is great for making loaf-shaped desserts like banana bread or layered dishes like tiramisu. The stoneware dish comes with a lid that has a handle, which can help maintain heat and/or cover food while you keep it in the fridge. It’s dishwasher safe, has a 10-year warranty and is oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the brand.
