Disney Believe cruise ship will feature 1st ‘Encanto’ musical

Disney Believe will feature the first-ever “Encanto” musical show when it sets sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, next year, Disney announced on Wednesday.

The brand new Disney Cruise Line ship will embark on its maiden voyage on Dec. 18, 2027, from Port Everglades and sail to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean destinations on four-night and five-night journeys. Those destinations will include Disney’s private islands — Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Believe, will start sailing in December 2027.

When guests and families step aboard, they’ll be greeted with a “Moana”-themed Grand Hall, complete with a statue of Moana and her pals Pua and Heihei. The “Moana” theme continues in the Believe’s staterooms, with new “papercut-style artwork” from the seafaring movie, as well as Pixar’s “Coco” and Disney’s “The Lion King.”

“Encanto” will be the Believe’s centerpiece stage show, following Mirabel on her quest to save her family their beloved home and incorporate Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit songs, like “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure.” Other stage shows on deck include “Tangled: The Musical” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”

Disney Believe will feature a new stage adaptation of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto.”

Gazelle, a live show hub inspired by the “Zootopia” movies, will offer guests another new option that will highlight adults-only entertainment at night. Families and friends can also gather at the Wishing Well, a central gathering space inspired by “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”

Like with other Disney cruise ships, the Believe offers a full suite of children’s clubs and spaces, from Disney’s Oceaneer Club and It’s a Small World Nursery to the Edge, Vibe and The Hideaway for older kids.

The Disney Believe will also feature a new “Frozen”-inspired family dining venue called Oaken’s Table. Foodies can also enjoy a Sea Notes piano lounge inspired by “The Little Mermaid,” Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora — “Big Hero 6” and “Moana”-themed cafes — and a pub styled like a magical observatory named Skygazers.

For voyagers with a sweet tooth, there’s also the Inside Out: Joyful Sweets confectionary.

Returning favorite eateries and venues include the Haunted Mansion Parlor bar, the fine dining restaurants Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and The Rose lounge.
