At least 10 killed in train collision on high-speed line in Spain

LONDON — At least 10 people are dead after two trains collided on Spain’s Madrid-Andalucía high-speed line, according to Esther Padilla, a spokeswoman for the Castilla-La Mancha region.

The collision occurred near the towns of Mora, Orgaz and Urda, and involved a Renfe train and an Iryo train, both traveling on the Madrid-Seville route, officials said.

Padilla said the death toll could rise.
