Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested early Friday morning for suspicion of driving under the influence in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to a report from TMZ.
“We are aware of the situation involving Dillon Brooks and are gathering more information,” the Phoenix Suns said in a statement released to ESPN. “We have no further comment at this time.”
According to reports, Brooks was pulled over in Scottsdale for traffic violations and subsequently placed under arrest after an investigation. Brooks was reportedly booked and released from Maricopa County Jail at approximately 3:30 am.
Books, 30, has missed Phoenix’s last five games due to a fractured left hand suffered in a Feb. 21 win over Orlando, but he’s expected to return near the end of the regular season. Brooks is averaging 20.9 points, an increase in scoring by 6.9 points from last season, in addition to 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one steal.
