I’ve written a lot about vacuums at NBC Selected, including cordless, upright and robot vacuums (make sure you know about the new ban, by the way). So I know about all the latest high-tech features and useful attachments they come with for cleaning more than just floors. One of the new and more impressive ones is a self-emptying function.
Brands like Shark, Dyson and Levoit have launched self-emptying cordless vacuum (yes, it’s not just for robot vacs anymore) and right now, the new Levoit Aero Self-Emptying Cordless Vacuum is 40% off on Amazon. That means you can already save $200 on this device that launched less than a year ago. Below, I talk more about the deal and why it’s worth grabbing ahead of fall.

The Levoit Aero is similar to Levoit’s other cordless vacuums — like the popular Levoit LVAC-200 — which are also lightweight stick vacuums with attachments. The biggest distinctions are the slightly different tools included, and that it comes with a dock that charges it and also collects dirt from its dustbin without you needing to do anything but attach it. The dustbin on the vacuum empties into a vacuum bag in the dock that holds up to 60 days worth of debris. It has a built-in HEPA filter that captures more than 99% of particles as you clean, according to the brand. Plus, it has a runtime of up to 70 minutes — the longest runtime of most cordless vacuums I’ve written about.
It also has a more advanced brushroll that can efficiently clean up pet hair without getting tangled, so if you’re a pet owner, it can help keep your floors and furniture free of fur and dander. The vacuum also has a small row of headlights at the front to help you see debris, and it comes with multiple attachments, including a crevice tool, an upholstery brush, a combination tool and an extension hose.
NBC Selected reporter Zoe Malin got the vacuum from Levoit to test it out before it first launched and calls it life-changing. “I have three shedding pets so I’m constantly vacuuming, and being able to dock the vacuum, press a button, have it empty itself and start charging basically does all the work for me,” she says. “The vacuum itself is very powerful — it even picks up cat litter on the first pass, which is rare. I constantly use the interchangeable attachments it comes with to convert it into a handheld vacuum, and I love that there’s a spot on the vacuum to hold them so I can swap attachments wherever I am in my apartment. I’ve had the vacuum for almost two years and it still works perfectly.”
Why this deal is worth it
Cordless stick vacuums with self-emptying features are still relatively new (and expensive), so to get a Levoit at this discount feels like a steal.
- $299.99 vs. $499.99
- Has self-emptying feature and comes with several attachments
- Runtime is over one hour
