World number one Nelly Korda went 69 holes without a bogey as she cruised to a four-shot victory in the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba in Mexico.
A week after Korda won her third major with a five-shot win at the Chevron Championship, she was just as dominant to beat Arpichaya Yubol of Thailand, who marked her 24th birthday with a 70 to finish alone in second.
Yu Liu of China (69) was a further shot back.
“I’m just enjoying myself and I love the competition. I love travelling to places like Mexico, all over the world. I’m just having fun,” Korda said, following a closing round of 69.
The 27-year-old American opened up a seven-shot lead early in the final round which started early to avoid thunderstorms.
Her run of bogey-free holes, which began following a dropped shot on the second hole in round one, ended with a mishap on the last after firing into bushes and then a bunker.
The six prevented her from matching her largest LPGA Tour margin of victory, set last week with her five-shot win in Houston.
“Golf humbled me on the last hole and I made my first bogey on the weekend,” she said.
“Overall I’m so happy. I played some really good golf. You put in the work. Everyone out here puts in the work. Sometimes it works out.”
