“Fast & Furious” star Jordana Brewster is speeding on over to Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming series “Bishop.” On the thriller, in the works for Prime Video, Brewster will play Kat Clairborne, described as a “seasoned” inspector inside the San Francisco Police Department.
Brewster joins a cast that includes Joel Kinaman, John Malkovich and Jennifer Jason Leigh, who was announced earlier this week as Malkovich’s sister, Jillian Graves.
“Bishop” was picked up at Prime Video last September. The series, an original idea from co-creators Little Marvin (“Them”) and Tony Saltzman (“Dexter: Resurrection”), centers on Bishop — described as “brilliant, battle-scarred – will put all of his skills to the test in the hunt for an elusive killer targeting San Francisco’s moneyed class. As this increasingly audacious killer develops a devoted following among the city’s powerless, Bishop becomes convinced these murders connect back to SF’s most powerful man, his own father, Lincoln Graves.”
Brewster’s recent TV credits include FX’s “American Crime Story,” as well as Fox’s “Lethal Weapon,” TNT’s “Dallas” and ABC’s “Secrets and Lies.” In film, she’ll next be seen in the indie “The Pirate King,” with Annabeth Gish and Rob Riggle, which premieres this coming week at the SXSW festival in Austin. She also recently appeared in Sony’s “Heart Eyes,” as well as the Lionsgate thriller “Cellar Door.”
Brewster is probably best known for her part in the hugely successful “Fast & Furious” franchise, having appeared in seven of the ten installments.
Little Marvin, who has an overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, will serve as showrunner in addition to co-creator and exec producer, while Saltzman is also co-creator/EP. Roy Lee is a non-writing executive producer, as is Miri Yoon of Vertigo. Amazon MGM Studios, where Little Marvin is under an overall deal, will produce.
Brewster is repped by Anonymous Content, CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
