The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Rams to send All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles for four draft picks, including the 29th pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
The Chiefs also will receive fifth- and sixth-round picks in this year’s draft and a 2027 third-round selection from the Rams, the sources told Schefter.
McDuffie would be expected to sign a long-term contract extension with the Rams.
The Rams had two first-round picks in this year’s draft as a result of a trade they made with the Atlanta Falcons last year. Los Angeles still owns the 13th pick in this draft.
This is the second time in three years the Chiefs have traded a top cornerback instead of handing out a big-money extension. In 2024, Kansas City traded L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans.
The Chiefs also have cornerback Jaylen Watson set to become a free agent next week.
