Content creator turned Netflix star Mark Rober is launching a new competition series for the streamer titled “Schooled!”
Rober, a former NASA engineer, will also exec produce the series alongside Scott Lewers for CrunchLabs and Jimmy Kimmel and Scott Lonker for Kimmelot.
Daniel Calin is showrunner and exec produce.
“‘Welcome to ‘Schooled!’” reads the logline. “Where teams of student tinkerers compete in creative and explosive science challenges, set in a fully gamified school. Mark Rober is on a mission to discover the next generation of Inventors, Makers, and Engineers. Winners take home a life-changing prize.”
Netflix are now holding open casting sessions to find school-aged participants for the series. A release date has not yet been set.
Rober, who founded science and engineering company CrunchLabs in 2022 to inspire kids and learners, launched a show of the same name in Nov. 2025 where it quickly racked up over 12 million views in two months. More episode are set to launch on March 16.
“I couldn’t be more stoked to team up with Netflix and Jimmy Kimmel to bring ‘Schooled!’ to life,” said Rober of the new show. “Our series is about giving kids a stage big enough for their ideas. This will be the ultimate playground for science, creativity, and competition to come together. I’m so pumped to see what these students come up with. My expectations are high. I’m ready to be blown away.”
John Derderian, Netflix VP for kids and family TV, added: “Mark Rober is a master of the ‘wow’ moment, and we’ve seen firsthand how much our members love his unique brand of science-fueled spectacle. We’re taking that energy to the next level with ‘Schooled!’ It isn’t just a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity and engineering. It’s exactly the kind of co-viewing experience that brings families together, and we can’t wait to see what these young makers and tinkerers create in the halls of CrunchLabs Academy.”
