A dozen people were killed Saturday during a “brutal” attack at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation said.
At least one of those killed was an American citizen, the agency said. The U.S. State Department didn’t immediately return messages for comment.
The other slain victims included two Bangladeshi citizens, one Egyptian, one Jordanian, one Syrian, one Palestinian, and one Sudanese citizen, according to the Saudi agency.
At least 300 people were injured, the agency said.
The agency said the airport suffered “material damage, the extent of which is currently being assessed,” the agency said.
There has so far been no claim of responsibility or comment from Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The Iran-backed group claimed attacks on the airport earlier in the week which left three Saudi nationals dead.
